Spammed by a UK professional permalink
For a change, not your usual Stock pump'n'dump scams, or herbal Viagra, but an e-mail from a UK Accountancy firm. Why they think that I might have any interest in them I do not know, but then the e-mail address that they sent it to was actually a Message-ID that my MTA had created when it received a spam back in 2004. Try explaining that to the Data Protection Registrar.
Sending unsolicited marketing e-mail to an individual in the UK is an offence under the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003
I'm not the only person to seen this spam - there is another report as well as mine in news.admin.net-abuse.sightings: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=vnaccounting
I've sent a complaint off to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants which are mentioned on the spammer's web page. Let's see if a Professional body is prepared to take action against its unprofessional members.
The spam was sent from, and the spammer's web site is hosted by Fasthosts, who have in the past been less than co-operative in fighting spam: for some time they would not accept e-mail reports, and forced you to go via a web page, that enforced a 50 word limit on the length of the complaint.
The details of the spammer's company are:
